The trail starts from the Greci commune ‘climbing’ the greatest granite formation in the Măcin Mountains, which was formed approximately 295 million years ago. Ţuţuianu Peak is the most spectacular observation point on the Western frame of the Măcin Mountains, and also the highest peak (467 m). The panorama is vast and impressive – one can observe the Pricopan Summit (Culmea Pircopanului) and the peaks of the main ridge of the Măcin Mountains, including the cities Galaţi, Măcin, Brăila, the Greci Depression, the Iacob Deal (Hill) Peak, the Chervant – Priopcea natural reservation, the distributaries of the Danube. In the forest area one sees Balkan, Mediterranean and Central European forest scenery, which mixed together give a great variety of foliage color.
On this trail one meets xerophile plants such as: Basket of Gold (Alyssum saxatile), Dobrogean peony (Paeonia peregrina), pygmy carnation (Dianthus nardiformis); species of insects protected in Europe (Rosalia alpina, Morimus funereus, Cerambix cerdo); reptiles: Spur-thighed Tortoise (Testudo graeca ibera), European green lizard (Lacerta viridis), Four-lined Snake (Elaphe quatorlineata); but also mammals: wildcat (Felis silvestris), European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus). The Ţuţuianu Peak is a very good observation point for birds of prey, such as: the Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug), Long-legged Buzzard (Buteo rufinus), Short-toed Snake Eagle (Circaetus gallicus).
