Low difficulty trail, Pietrosul Dobrogean Thematic Trail can be visited year-round by all categories of tourists in awe of the diversity in landscape sceneries which can be admired along. Starting from county road 222 A it enchants everyone who sets foot there with a landscape unseen in Dobrogea, through a forest consisting of balcanic oak (Quercus dalechampii), white oak (Quercus pedunculiflora), Tatar maple (Acer tataricum), silver linden (Tilia tomentosa), cornel (Cornus mas), oriental hornbeam (Carpinus orientalis), flowering ash (Fraxinus ornus), scalloped spirea (Spiraea crenata), bordered on the Western side by a spectacular canion traversed by huge trunks of centuries-old trees like bridges chiseled by hundred-million years’ nature in the hercinic mountains. The herbaceous floristic component consists of species of great scientific and landscape importance for the dobrogean ecosistems, out of which we mention: dwarf iris (Iris pumila), honey garlic (Nectaroscordum siculum), perfoliate Alexanders (Smyrnum perfoliatum), honesty (Lunaria pachyrhiza), monkey orchid (Orchis simia), lady orchid (Orchis purpurea), lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia), hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium), holub (Lithospermum purpurocaeruleum), the pleated leaves snowdrop (Galanthus plicatus), the rose campion (Lychnis coronaria), lesser periwinkle (Vinca minor), feather grass (Stipa capillata), Glecoma hirsuta, yellow foxglove (Digitalis grandiflora), large stonecrop (Sedum maximum), Bouché’s star of Bethlehem (Ornithogalum boucheanum), the golden pea (Lathyrus aureus).

Out of the faunistic component, tourists will seldom encounter the Greek tortoise (Testudo graeca), the European green lizard (Lacerta viridis), The Balkan wall lizard (Podarcis taurica).

Extraordinary viewsheds reveal to us the nature as an amphitheater of mosaic of species which represent the dobrogean forests in Pietrosu I (311m) and Pietrosu II (308m) hotspots.
